Learn to Play Bass Guitar – Fret board and Rhythm

People who pick up guitars for the first time find them to be an awkward instrument.Although, with the help of an instructional DVD, a lesson book, and a few basic exercises, the guitar will begin to feel comfortable to the new Guitar Player. You will need to use both of your hands to play the guitar, one to work the notes on the fret board and one to pick the strings. Do you want to learn how to play the guitar? Did you know that learning electric guitar is similar to learning Acoustic Guitar? Do you have to take different lessons if you want to learn to play bass guitar? Then read this article find the answers you’re looking for.

Set up for success.

You will need to purchase a lesson book, an instructional DVD, a tuner and a podium before you start. While focusing your attention on the guitar, you can observe the instructions from the DVD. Lesson books are used to teach the different scales and chords that you will have to learn. In order to have a hands off approach when reading sheet music, you can use a podium to keep the materials at eye level and tuners are used to keep the guitar tuned up. After all of the equipment has been purchased, you will be ready to begin your first lesson.

Rudimentary steps.

Following the directions from the instructional resources will inform you of the correct way to hold the guitar, and guide how your fingers are used with the fret board. The guitar will begin to feel more comfortable as the teaching tools guide you through rudimentary steps of strumming and picking the guitar. Until you can tune your guitar by ear, you can use the intuitional material, particularly the DVD to tune your guitar. Furthermore the lessons will teach you how to read notes which will lead into playing scales and chords, the building blocks of melodies. The last item, the podium, will make reading the sheet music easier by keeping it at eye level while you are practicing.

Creating different notes.

The left hand is used to play the fret board if you are right handed. This is responsible for creating the different notes. These will be the most difficult exercises, and you will need to practice often to build up strength in your fingers and hand. After learning all the notes, you will have to memorize the scales and chords.Your right hand will be used to practice rhythms. The correct way to hold the pick is between your thumb and forefinger, and this is used to strum and pick the strings. You will need to master both techniques with both hands, until you are comfortable enough to move on.

After you have practiced to the point of mastering the basic skills you will be able to play your favorite songs from sheet music. The good news is that after you are finished learning acoustic guitar, you can begin learning electric guitar.However, if you want to learn to play bass guitar, you will need to get separate instructions that focuses on the methods and chords that are unique to the bass guitar.
